Douglas C. Fredrick

Mr. Fredrick received his Bachelors in Business Administration and law degree from University of Missouri, Kansas City, where he competed as a decathlete on their NCAA Division I track and field team. He was inducted into the UMKC Athletics Hall of Fame twice; once as an individual and again as the team he captained to multiple conference championships. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in October 2023 as part of his high school cross country team at Kickapoo High School.

He obtained his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, during which time he studied at the Peking University School of Law (Beida) in Beijing, China, where he received a certificate in Comparative Law. After practicing law for two years, he accepted a commission as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army JAG Corps, graduating from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General School in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 2012, he accessed to the Air Force, later graduating from the United States Air Force Squadron Officer School, and later obtaining a Masters in Military Operational Art and Science.

After practicing law at Fredrick, Rogers and Vaughn, P.C. for five years, he started his own law firm in 2008, where he practices primarily in the areas of family law, real estate, business law, and appeals, and has conducted hundreds of trials and argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals (Southern District) and the Missouri Supreme Court. In 2017, the Missouri Bar released the second edition of Mr. Fredrick’s publication, Military Issues in Family Law, which became the definitive guide in that practice area. In 2018, Mr. Fredrick’s article Cryptocurrency And Blockchain; Here We Go Down The Rabbit Hole was published in the Missouri Bar Journal, and subsequently republished in the Wisconsin Lawyer bar journal and in the Family Law Lawyer Magazine. He has served on many charitable boards and Missouri Bar committees, and has taught many Continuing Legal Education seminars on military issues, landlord-tenant law, business law, family law, compassion fatigue, cryptocurrency, and other topics.

In 2017, Mr. Fredrick helped start the NCAA Women’s Triathlon program at Drury University, serving first as Assistant Coach and later as Head Coach. Mr. Fredrick has also been an adjunct professor in the Breech School of Business at Drury University since 2017, teaching classes in entrepreneurship and introduction to business. He oversaw the summer internships for business students for several summers.
